SISU September Player of the Month: Samantha "Popeye" Weiser
Popeye earned her nickname from a love of chicken tenders. She joined the team last year and quickly learnt the ropes. She is always willing to workout and constantly encouraging her teammates. We are looking forward to seeing her grow during year two of her rugby career.
During the summer Popeye gained even more rugby experience. She traveled to Israel with a women's team and attended an Atavus camp to further develop her rugby skills!
Major: Theatre Design and Production with a concentration in Lighting Design
Hometown: Plainview, NY
At Festifall the rugby girls kept stopping all girls and asked if they'd be interested in playing and I ended up starting a conversation with one of the players and then went to the mass meeting and really enjoyed the sport and the team!
in 5 years what do you see yourself doing?
Hopefully living in NYC and working as an assistant lighting designer on a musical.

My parents because they constantly support myself and my siblings and always are there for us.
"Bravery doesn't mean you're not scared, it just means you will do it anyways."
favorite memory at Michigan so far?
One of my favorite memories is the drive back from the Rutgers game last year and most of us had woken up from our car naps and we all were singing show tunes together and it was a great time.
I can juggle!
