September Player of the Month

Sienna Fasel

We're kicking the season and the school year off by highlighting senior, Sienna Fasel! Sienna has quite literally been a vital part of the team through her role as scrum half for many seasons and has also done a fabulous job as our recruiting chair. Moreover, the calming presence she brings to the field helps us keep our heads straight in even the most chaotic of moments. Can't wait to see what she does this year and in the future.

Year: 2017

Major: Program in the Environment/Earth & Environmental

Minor: Gender, Race, & Nation

Hometown:Traverse City, MI

Why rugby?

Rugby serves as a stress release, a motivator, a support system, and a family away from home. I don't know where I would be if I had never found rugby!

In 5 years, what do you see yourself doing?

As a senior, that's a terrifying question. I hope to have seen more of the world and have a job that allows me to help both people and the environment. And have many fur babies.

Favorite place in Ann Arbor?

- When I'm hungry: Frita Batidos - When I'm not hungry: the Arb

Favorite quote?

"If not us, who? If not now, when?"

Biggest inspiration and why?

I have to be cheesy and say that my mom is my biggest inspiration. Everything she does in life she does wholeheartedly and optimistically. I strive to live life with that mindset.

If you were an ice cream flavor, what would you be?

Cherries Moobilee from Moomer's in Traverse City because it's the best.

Favorite Michigan memory?

My favorite memory is the first football night game against Notre Dame freshman year. It was my 18th birthday and the halftime show was Beyonce themed. Everybody thought she was going to emerge from the giant disco ball on the field. Even though she didn't, it still makes it as my #1 memory at Michigan so far.

Best advice you've ever received?

Fake it 'til you make it!
